KDA (NZKDA) is a Māori, Polynesian, queer-led creative collective that exists to put our community’s creativity out there, while encouraging authentic self-expression and making space for fun. KDA was founded in 2019 as a K-pop dance community. In 2026, KDA transitioned into a creative collective with the intention of including and promoting multiple artistic modalities. Since its inception, our core values have remained the same; we have always encouraged freedom of expression, and our mission has been, and will continue to be, to cultivate a safe space for creating and exploring. This evolution in our group’s purpose is designed to expand our creative endeavours and allow our members to explore beyond what we have traditionally done. While KDA is now a closed collective, we remain active in the community and will continue to host public events and activations.
